Unexplained Features: Upper Egypt Mounds

An unusual grouping of mounds in Upper Egypt just 12 miles from the city of Abu Sidhum along the Nile.  The site consists of 2 larger mounds to the North with 2 smaller mounds to the South East.  The alignment of the mounds suggests artificiality but it is unknown if the features were caused by the Ancient Egyptians or are natural formations.

The images below have been color enhanced to bring out detail.

Unexplained Features: Egypt- Site 3- Enhanced

The image below reveals the approximate widths of the smaller mound features.  The sizes are very similar and the 2 smaller mounds are even closer in width to each other at approximately 100 feet wide.  Close ups of these mounds reveal more interesting features.

The image below is approximately 620 feet wide.  For comparison purposes the Great Pyramid is 208 feet in width.  This mound feature is almost 3 times the size of the Great Pyramid.  Upon closer examination of the formation, it appears to have a very flat top and a curiously symmetrical triangular shape that has been heavily eroded with time.

When zooming in on the top of the triangular formation it is very interesting to see two circular features almost in the very center of the triangle.

The cirular features are approximately 20 feet in width and almost appear to be well or shaft like features that have been dug out.

It is uncertain if the mound features are natural or made by ancient man.  If you have any information on the features in question, please send us a comment via e-mail or post a comment to this article.

Could we not request the National Geographic to investigate the anomaly?

Yes, National Geographic would be nice or any Egyptologist out there who sees this would be good too.
